Will my porcelain veneers look natural?

Thanks to Dr. Bass’ LVI training and extensive cosmetic dentistry background, he is able to design and place porcelain veneers with expert skill. The primary goal is to deliver veneers that look natural and feel comfortable. At our Oklahoma City dental practice, our porcelain veneers team will take the time necessary to ensure you get a beautiful fit.

Why is porcelain the best material for veneers?

Our porcelain veneer professionals prefer porcelain over any other tooth-colored veneer material for many reasons. It is a high-quality choice that we feel gives our patients the very best results, both functionally and aesthetically. The porcelain can be easily handcrafted to fit each patient’s specifications, and the thin veneers look just like natural teeth when bonded by our smile makeover experts. Porcelain is also strong, durable, attractive, and can last a number of years with good care. At the Oklahoma City office of Dr. Terry Bass, we would not recommend anything less than the best for our patients.

Can I bite normally with porcelain veneers?

The porcelain veneers are very thin, but when bonded to your natural enamel, they become extremely strong and able to withstand excessive biting forces. After your veneers are placed, you will be able to eat whatever foods you want. However, like natural teeth, veneers can break or chip. It is important that you avoid chewing on pens or pencils, and must be careful when eating very hard or sticky foods, or candy.

What alternative treatments are available?

Porcelain veneers are a popular choice because they can correct several issues simultaneously. Your ideal treatment will depend on what tooth problem you are trying to correct. If whitening is your main goal, you may consider advanced laser whitening. If you have minor chips or cracks, tooth bonding is a good alternative. Porcelain fillings are effective for tooth breaks or decay, and porcelain crowns help strengthen weakened teeth. After a thorough evaluation, Dr. Bass can review all your options and help you choose one that works.

Does Dr. Bass have a lot of experience with porcelain veneers?

Yes. Dr. Bass received his post-graduate training from the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, and has helped countless Edmond, Lawton, Norman, and Oklahoma City patients dramatically improve their smiles with Aurum porcelain veneers.
