Regular dental exams are the cornerstone of prevention, and Dr. Bass and his Team use the latest decay-finding technology to detect potential problems. Since the effects of decay and bacteria build-up are often progressive, the sooner these areas are found, the easier they are to remove and treat. The key is to find decay before it causes damage to your teeth, gum tissue, or tooth roots.
In the majority of cavity cases, Dr. Bass is able to remove the decay and place porcelain fillings or other restorations to strengthen and protect teeth. Waiting too long to treat a smaller cavity could mean you may require a larger restoration, such as a dental crown, to restore the tooth’s original strength. Preventing major dental problems is often as simple as staying on track with dental checkups. Most patients are encouraged to visit us once every six months, but if you have certain issues that require close monitoring, Dr. Bass may ask you to come in more frequently.
