- Porcelain-Fused-to-Metal Crowns – Much more advantageous than all-metal crowns, porcelain-fused-to metal crowns are sometimes preferred over all-porcelain for various reasons. The shell of this type crown is made of metal, and then a porcelain outer layer is veneered over the metal to create a natural, tooth-like appearance.
- Lava™ Crowns – Lava crowns use shaded zirconia on the interior surfaces, with a hardened outer layer for maximum strength. Lava crowns are also chosen for their exceptional translucency, a highly coveted quality of natural enamel.
